I thought it would be helpful to put together a toolbox for you to reference as you set-up and grow your online business. These are the tools I have used in my business in one way or another and have benefited from. Having the right tools saves time, money and can increase sales.
I recommend bookmarking this page so you can refer back to it as I will continue to add to it as I try out new tools and resources. I hope this helps!
Visualise your Goals with Goalscape
Goalscape is a great tool that can either be used online as a web application (Goalscape Connect) or installed directly onto your PC or Mac (Goalscape). It is a visual way to split down a goal (or project, stage, work package) into sub-goals. You can then modify the importance of those sub-goals, priority, resource, dates and overall contribution to the parent goal. You then track progress and all the progress across all the sub-goals is then rolled up so you can see progress against the overall project.
I use it for project planning, website designing, planning my gardening – EVERYTHING!

Gather your ideas together with MindMeister
If you use mind mapping to help get your ideas out of your head, onto paper, and then relate them to each other, brain storm and basically get your ideas clear, you’ll love MindMeister. It is both a web application (so you can use it directly in your web browser from any machine) and a mobile app. I like the ease of use and the quality of mindmaps produced, along with the options for exporting them into other software.
Like with Goalscape, I use MindMeister daily for just about everything. I have a lot of ideas in my head, and this really helps organise them.

Check if your website is mobile phone friendly
To see what Google thinks of how mobile phone / tablet friendly your website is simply follow this link and input the address of your website.
Google has now officially announced that it will penalise websites, as far as returning it in search results, if it is NOT mobile responsive. So it is important to know where you stand and understand the potential impact on your website visitors.
